The Founding Fathers were wise, yet imperfect men who framed a great nation with a great Constitution – but it was not a perfect Constitution. They themselves recognized that there would come a day when time or circumstances would require amendments, some of which could only be achieved through the state-led convention process. Having lain dormant since America’s founding, it is time for us to breathe life into this important constitutional safety valve by demonstrating the interstate convention process known so well to the Founders.
In early August, commissioners from across the entire country, representing every state, will congregate in Colonial Williamsburg to experience the event of a lifetime. They will work diligently to craft, discuss, and vote on proposed amendments on 3 essential topics: term limits, fiscal restraints, and limitations on the scope, power, and jurisdiction of the federal government.

The Simulated Convention is designed to show the country that the Founders' solution is ready to be deployed in order to rein in the out-of-control federal government. We want as many people as possible to watch the proceedings, and you can help make that happen. We invite you to host a Watch Party to gather friends, family, and community together for this historic Simulated Article V Convention. Host in your very own living room, book your church’s multi-purpose room, or rent out the local library’s conference center. Invite those actively involved in COS or recruit brand-new people, so they too can learn how an Article V Convention can save our Republic. If you choose to invite people who are new to COS, we recommend having marketing assets on hand such as social media business cards and other informational resources that they can take home with them (view all resources here).
